A supported recumbent ride with connected workout options

The Schwinn 290 combines a ventilated, supported seat with magnetic resistance and a seven-inch LCD. Its recumbent layout keeps the pedals ahead of the seat, making it a different riding experience from an upright or studio cycle.

Performance & riding feel

Twenty-five magnetic resistance levels and 13 workout programs offer a range of training demands. The adjustable seat includes lumbar support, while weighted pedals with straps help keep regular training shoes positioned through the pedal stroke.

Console & connected features

Bluetooth FTMS connectivity supports compatible JRNY and Zwift sessions on a personal device, with subscriptions separate where required. A compatible optional heart-rate strap can add pulse feedback, and the LCD keeps ride information on the bike itself.

Everyday comfort & practicality

Entry handles, a media shelf, bottle storage and USB charging support everyday use. Transport wheels help with repositioning. At 168.7 cm long, the recumbent frame needs more floor length than a compact upright cycle.

Build a repeatable cycling routine

Set the riding position before increasing the effort. A timed session with a comfortable cadence gives you a useful baseline; planned changes of resistance add variety without needing to chase maximum intensity. Adjust the seat so the knee retains a slight bend at the longest part of the pedal stroke.

Choosing your setup

Allow room to mount the bike and to adjust its contact points. Check the listed user capacity and adjustment range against the rider, then level the machine on a suitable indoor surface. Console calories and pulse readings are estimates; any optional apps, screens or sensors need to match the bike and the intended training service.
