Wide tyres for a different kind of everyday ride
The Aventon Aventure 3 combines a step-over aluminium frame with broad 26 x 4-inch tyres, front suspension and a suspension seatpost. Its Australian configuration uses rear-hub pedal assistance and a removable 733 Wh battery. The bike is aimed at riders who want a substantial tyre footprint for varied surfaces, with comfort and everyday equipment alongside its more adventurous appearance.
Tyre volume and suspension
The four-inch tyres create a broad contact patch, while the 80 mm suspension fork helps take the edge off bumps at the front wheel. A 50 mm suspension seatpost adds cushioning beneath the saddle. Tyre pressure remains part of the setup: it should suit the rider, load and surface rather than simply being set as low as possible.
Assistance and usable gearing
A 250 W rear-hub motor provides pedal assistance in the Australian version. The eight-speed Shimano drivetrain gives you mechanical gear choices for changing gradients, independent of the assistance setting. The BC280 display offers three assistance levels plus Boost, with Ride Tune customisation listed for riders who want to adjust the supported ride feel.
Battery and connected functions
The battery sits inside the frame and is removable for charging. Aventon's ACU brings GPS and 4G-connected functions, including app-based features associated with the bike. These depend on setup, coverage and the applicable service plan. Real-world distance between charges varies with tyre setup, surface, load, elevation and how much assistance you request.
Controls and included equipment
Tektro two-piston hydraulic brakes work with 180 mm rotors at both wheels. Mudguards, integrated lights and a rear-mounted kickstand are listed with the bike. Platform pedals and lock-on grips complete the contact points, while the step-over frame offers a different mounting arrangement from Aventon's step-through commuter and cruiser models.
