A cruiser with a connected, regenerative twist
The Aventon Pace 5 REC keeps the relaxed shape of an upright cruiser and adds regenerative braking to its electric system. The step-through frame, swept-back handlebar and broad comfort saddle are geared towards easygoing outings. A removable 733 Wh battery, rear-hub motor and eight-speed gearing make up the core of the Australian configuration presented here.
A comfortable position for local journeys
The swept-back aluminium handlebar brings the grips towards the rider, and the adjustable-rise stem helps with cockpit setup. A wide comfort saddle complements the upright position. The rigid alloy fork and conventional seatpost distinguish this version from suspension-equipped commuters, while 27.5 x 2.1-inch tyres provide useful volume beneath you.
Regeneration alongside normal braking
The electric system lists regenerative braking, which can recover some energy during suitable braking conditions. It does not replace charging the battery or the mechanical braking system. Tektro two-piston hydraulic discs and 180 mm rotors remain responsible for wheel braking, while the rear-hub motor supplies assistance when you are pedalling.
Battery, display and gears
The 733 Wh battery can be removed from the frame for charging. The A280 display shows everyday ride information, while Shimano eight-speed gears let you alter your pedalling cadence as the road changes. Keeping a comfortable mechanical gear selected helps you use assistance as support rather than relying on one high-effort gear everywhere.
Connected features and visibility
The listed connected package includes GPS, 4G-linked functions and anti-theft features, with brake lighting, indicators and wheel-lock functionality among the model's highlights. App setup, service availability and coverage matter. A kickstand is included, but mudguards are not part of the listed configuration and should be considered separately for wet-weather use.
