City-bike practicality with an integrated Bosch system
The Merida eFloat City 400 EQ is a low-step electric hybrid built around regular urban journeys. The 2025 Pearl White and Gunmetal Grey configuration pairs a Bosch Performance Line motor with a 625 Wh PowerTube battery, front suspension and Shimano Cues nine-speed gearing. Its accessible frame layout and city-oriented tyres make comfort and everyday usefulness central to the package.
A low-step frame for regular use
The aluminium frame keeps the battery integrated and routes the cables internally. The low opening helps when getting on and off at frequent stops. Merida Expert cockpit parts, grips and saddle form the contact points, which should be adjusted around your reach and leg extension rather than judged only by the frame's low access height.
Bosch support and battery capacity
A Bosch Performance Line mid-drive works through the bicycle's transmission, with the 625 Wh battery supplying stored energy for the system. Selecting an appropriate lower gear is still useful on a climb. Distance between charges changes with gradients, rider input, load and assistance setting; capacity alone is not a fixed-range guarantee.
Suspension and urban tyres
The Suntour NEX E25 coil fork gives 63 mm of front travel. Maxxis Metropass tyres use a 50-622 size and reflective detailing, combining a substantial contact patch with an everyday city tread. The 700c wheels use Merida rims and Shimano hubs, while the front suspension helps soften bumps before they reach the handlebar.
Transmission and braking equipment
Shimano Cues nine-speed gearing spans an 11-46T cassette, paired with an FSA e-bike crankset. Shimano MT200 two-piston hydraulic brakes use 180 mm RT10 rotors at the front and rear. These details give a clearer picture of the supplied running gear than a generic reference to disc brakes or a Shimano drivetrain alone.
