Light city-bike handling with a useful electric boost
The Trek FX+ 2 LT combines a relatively light aluminium city-bike platform with a compact Hyena rear-hub drive. Its 250 Wh battery is integrated into the down tube, keeping the silhouette closer to a conventional hybrid than a large-battery touring bike. A flat handlebar, eight-speed transmission and practical accessories make it a versatile option for everyday local journeys.
Compact assistance for familiar routes
The Hyena motor is rated at 250 W and 40 Nm, with torque-sensing assistance responding to pedal input. The integrated battery and LED display keep the system straightforward to use. A smaller battery helps the overall layout stay compact, although the route, hills and assistance setting still determine how often charging is needed.
A conventional hybrid-bike feel
The Alpha Gold Aluminium frame is paired with an alloy rigid fork and 700c wheels. Bontrager H2 Comp tyres are listed at 40 mm wide, with reflective detailing. There is no suspension fork to adjust, so the bike's setup centres on tyre pressure, saddle position and a cockpit size that matches your reach.
Eight gears and hydraulic brakes
Shimano Acera gearing uses an eight-speed 11-40T cassette, giving a useful spread for changing gradients. Shimano hydraulic discs supply braking through MT200 levers and UR300 callipers in the listed build. The 42T chainring and torque-sensing bottom bracket connect your pedalling to the mechanical and electric systems.
Equipment for daily practicality
A rear rack, mudguards and lighting make the FX+ useful beyond an unladen leisure spin. The Bontrager contact points include ergonomic grips and a commuter saddle, while platform pedals are supplied. Handlebar width, crank length and seatpost dimensions vary by frame size, so those details should follow your chosen size rather than one universal measurement.
